Advisory Council
The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging and Disabilities Advisory Council (SWAADAC) advises SWAAD regarding the development and administration of the area plan.
The Advisory Council:
- Represents the needs, problems, interests, and accomplishments of persons aged 60 and over, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers to the public
- Sponsors and conducts public hearings, forums, and conferences to solicit information from persons 60 years of age and over, adults with disabilities, and family caregivers, and to educate the public
- Recommends priority needs of older persons, persons with disabilities and their families.
- Reviews and analyzes program and service data and operations
- Reviews, develops, and organizes (with SWAAD staff) data and information used in planning, coordination, advocacy, and area plans
- Reviews SWAA’s administrative budgets and services provided.
Advisory Council members represent the needs of older persons and persons with disabilities, including the needs of ethnic, racial, and sexual minority communities.
A majority of Advisory Council members must be 60 years of age and older.
The Advisory Council is composed of representatives from SWAAD’s five-county planning and service area:

- Patty Kinswa-Gaiser, Tribal Representative
- Klickitat County
- Lowell Smith, Godendale
- Skamania County

The Advisory Council meets every third Wednesday of the month from 10:00am to 1:00pm in various locations throughout the five-county planning and service area. Meetings are scheduled for
